The Strypes leveled LA’s West Side Tuesday night at The World Famous Troubadour.
In front of a packed house, at their LA-debut show, the boys from the Emerald Isle brought it. They fired off “Mystery Man,” “She’s So Fine,” and “So They Say” before the masses could exhale.
The Strypes rocked with ice in their veins and bubbles in their mouths. They were on a mission to conquer the Troubadour stage.
Leadmen Ross Farrelly and Josh McClorey rocked the crowd through a roller coaster of rhythm and blues and raw guitar rift. They seamlessly shared the mic exchanging pulls from rock’s fountain of youth.
They rocked the Troubadour back to its glory days covering Hall of Famers LaVern Baker, “CC Rider” and Chuck Berry, “Route 66.”
The high school rockers showed incredible poise. They charged through a score of songs including “Blue Collar Jane” which they played the night before on Conan and a show stopping “Heart of the City”. The show’s highlight was a killer harmonica solo by bassist Pete O’Hanlon.
It was a legendary performance fit for rock royalty. Sir Elton John, Matthew Bellamy and the boys from Muse cheered on the young rockers.
The Strypes strode back on stage for their encore like disobedient Prom Kings. This was their night.
The Strypes’ Troubadour show was recorded…so there may be a live album or bootleg coming our way soon.
